COLLABORATIVE
SOLUTIONS

for
STRONGER
COMMUNITY

We need a View Royal Council that is ready to work collaboratively with other communities to finally deliver municipal solutions to issues like Traffic & Transportation, Community Health, and Liveable Housing.

As someone who's spent his career bringing together all levels of government across our region for collaborative solutions, I have the experience and commitment to deliver on these issues for our community.

TRAFFIC &
TRANSPORTATION

As the bridge between the Westshore and Greater Victoria, every day we have over ten-thousand commuters funnel through just three lanes of traffic between Old Island Highway and Highway One.

We need to work with these communities to incentivize public and alternative transportation, improve traffic light timing across the region, and develop a regional transportation plan that will account for the growth across our region. From improving traffic flow, to buses, to bikes, to regional rail restoration, we need to be willing to  invest in all possible solutions.

COMMUNITY
HEALTH

Despite being one of the few municipalities that houses a hospital, too many people in our community are still living without a family doctor.

I will work to help create View Royal's first municipal-run doctors' office, for View Royal residents, following Colwood's successful model. It's no secret that family doctors are hard to come by, and that's in part because the administrative headache of running a clinic prevents new practices from opening. A municipal-run clinic will attract family doctors by letting them actually practice medicine, without having to also run a business.

LIVABLE
HOUSING

Our region needs more housing, and it's essential that our Town Council can deliver on that need, in a way that supports our community now, and in the future.

That means housing stock that works for families, deliberate community-planning to support future growth, and access to the outdoor amenities like parks and playgrounds that help make our community vibrant. Whether it's young families, seniors looking to age in place, first-time homebuyers, or empty nesters, our community is made stronger when we have a diversity of people living in it.

About Sacha

I'm running for View Royal Council because we need a council with the experience and vision to solve some of our community's most pressing issues. Traffic, Health, and Housing are all things we can improve in our community, if we have a town council that's able to bring together all levels of government to reach common solutions. As a View Royal resident, I want our town to be more than a place people drive through. I want it to be a vibrant community for all of us.

As a strategic initiatives and public relations professional in government, I have spent my whole career working with policy makers in our region. This has meant bringing together local governments, First Nations, and interest groups across our region, to collaborate for common solutions to common problems. As your councillor, I will bring this expertise to the council table, delivering a View Royal with a stronger community for both today and tomorrow.

I also come to the council table with an academic and professional background in Criminology, and hold a degree in Political Science and Indigenous Studies from the University of Victoria.

I respectfully acknowledge that View Royal is on the traditional territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, known today as Songhees and Kosapsum Nations.
